A celebration of Latin film making, the Festival de Cine de Todos Santos is in its 8th year. It presents a selection of award winning Latin films, along with some specific to Baja, and the latest productions from their sponsorship of "Youth in Video" (a program to engage local youth in video making).
The 2011 Todos Santos Film Festival, Baja California’s most acclaimed cinematic event, will run in Todos Santos from March 4-7, 2011.
Diego Luna, the prestigious, internationally acclaimed Mexican actor and director will present the 8th edition of the Festival. He will attend the Festival and present his newest film “Abel” 2010, produced by John Malkovich. The film opened in Sundance and received awards at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
Luna performed in Academy Award-winning and nominated movies such as 'Frida,' ‘Milk’, and 2001′s critically acclaimed Mexican drama, ‘Y tu mamá también’ (“And Your Mother Too”), where he received an award for best actor.
The Todos Santos Film Festival features groundbreaking, internationally awarded works celebrating Mexico’s Bicentennial. Cuba is featured as the Invited Country. There will also be showings of young elementary student documentaries created through the innovative “Youth in Video” program.
All films are in Spanish with English subtitles.
