Wow! When we closed admission on Monday to our 1st annual photo show, we had received 114 entries. By the end of Tuesday, after a grueling jury session by our two independent judges, Henri Meillier and Dennis Bradbury, both of whom are accomplished professional photographers and artists, we were ready to hang the 79 photos that met the juror's standards, with representation from the following 29 photographers from TS and surrounds, La Paz, Los Cabos, and the East Cape:
Alberto Poli, Alvaro Colindres, Barbara Holman, Benjamin Troyo, Bruce Herman, C Riva-Miras, Claudia Vail, Erleen Whitney, Gail McAllister, Gary Batha, Iker Algorri, Jack Hamilton, Jennifer Power, Jim Spillman, Judy West, Kevin Colter, Laurie Bauer, Lisa Green, Lorna Logan, Morgan Edwards, Nancy Serfas, Pam Akins, Peyt Turner, Roberta Booth, Sergio Jauregui, Susan Beard, Thomas Ireton, Vic Kirby, and Vincent Lamote.
There was a great turnout for the grand opening of the show on Thursday, February 4th 5:30pm at Cafelix, where approximately 150 attendees enjoyed flautas by Landis, punch and singing by Tracy Durland. At 6 pm, the 6 awards for the best of show and runners up in the 2 classes, "Baja" and "Open" were announced. Winners received award certificates and prizes, courtesy of our event sponsors, Hotel California, Heartsease, The Art Store , and Cafelix.
The show continues at Cafelix until February 28th. Entrants with accepted photos must then collect, or make arrangements to collect their unsold or NFS work between 9a.m and 11a.m on either March 1st or March 2nd 2010.
