Art in Todos Santos

Tickets for the 2012 Open Studio Tour can be purchased from the 6th February at Cafelix and large hotels in Todos Santos, and on the day of the tour from 9a.m. at Cafelix.  For those out of town, you may reserve tickets via the on-line order form in the sub menu  above under "tour" - you must pick up the tickets from Cafelix between 9a.m. and 10:30a.m. on the day of the tour. A ticket costs 150 pesos.

With each ticket you will get a wristband (to identify you to the studios), and a map / brochure on the participating artists and their studios.  With 31 studios in and around town, you will probably need to pick which ones you specifically want to see from the details in the submenu above under "tour", and based on looking at the sample work in the gallery at Cafelix in our "pre-tour show" that opens Feb 9th - it will be hard to fit all of them into the day!

The tour runs from 10 am to 5pm on Sunday, February 12th

The popular Artists’ Open Studio Tour has become a premiere event and fund-raiser for the Palapa Society in 2012. Monies raised by this highly successful event will help fund an expanded arts program and provide necessary supplies and equipment to raise the art awareness and skills of the talented children of Todos Santos. But, that’s not all. So that more visitors, locals and part-time residents can enjoy this growing event, the date has been moved to Sunday, February 12, 2012 immediately following the Todos Santos Arts Festival, one of the highlights of the winter art season.

New this season will be a monthly opportunity for area artists, as well as, visiting artists to gather informally at Café Todos Santos on the 4th Thursday of each month from 3PM to 5PM to discuss and share their experiences making and marketing their art. Each month the “Café Des Artists” will present a topic to start the discussion. The first “Café” meeting is scheduled for January 26th and will feature the topic “Inspirations and Work Habits.” A special designated area of the café will be available for these sessions. The cost of food and beverages is the responsibility of each participant.
